To a Horrible End, Good-bye, Torrin.

Kemi felt a little down, her adventures in Japan were coming to a close. Soon, she'd have to say good-bye to her closest friend, the man she looked up to for over 4 years. She knew it would be hard to leave and never see him again. She hoped that after she got back home, she'd be able to come back, but it was only a hope.

Kemi remembered correctly, Torrin liked to train in the woods not far off from the lake. So Hanase walked herself in that direction. The walk itself seemed painfully slow, and very heart-filled. Would she ever see these beautiful hills again? She only hopped.

When Kemi arrived to the woods on a cliff above the lake, she could hear Torrin jumping all over the place. He sure was fast, and really good in stealth tactics. She had to get him to stop, just so she could say good-bye.

"I had a feeling you'd be out here, Torrin." She called out. "Why not take a quick brake so I can talk to you." Kemi giggled, though her laughter was also filled with pain.

Torrin had been traing hard, he felt the more he trained, the more control he'd have over himself. He wanted full control and skill to protect those who mattered most. Hikko, Mynima, Suzume, Ligara, Kagura. All of them, his family. They mattered most. How would Torrin be able to stand living up to such expectations if he did not train? He wanted to be the one to be there for all of them.

Torrin came to a hault when he heard the words from a voice all too familiar. "Well if it isn't Kemi Hanase." Torrin chuckled. He kept himself cloaked as he dropped to the ground. "What brings you to my neck of the woods?" He asked.

Kemi, he would never forget, even though she was strong and able. She was another person, Torrin would put his own life on the line to protect.

Kemi shook her head. "There's nothing to be happy about this visit." she said sadly. "I've come to give you my farewells." She sighed and turned to the direction of Torrin's voice.

"My deployment to help the Tactical division in the Police department is over." Kemi said. "They're sending me home this evening." She suddenly felt chocked up, and like she was beginning to regret coming to Japan.

Torrin did his best to stay calm. "I understand, Kemi." He said lightly. "I admit it is sad to see you go, but I understand that it was not forever." Torrin wanted to hug her, but he knew it was not possible, even if already in his Talon form.

"We've been through a lot together, I'm very sure we will be re-united to go on adventures once more, in due time."

"Kemi, I'm going to miss you." Torrin said, almost chocked up himself. "I hope you get home safe." Torrin could hardly say anything else. He did not want Hanase to go. Things would be much better of if she stayed here forever.

"Kemi." Torrin said suddenly. "Why not forget going back home to the States?" He said abruptly. "Stay here, with all of us, where you will be happy?"

"Screw the thought of it nor being forever!" Kemi shouted in frustration and sadness. "Things would have been forever had that event two and a half years ago not taken place!" She paused. "Then again, I don't think I would have ever met that gentle side of you I've come to love. The side you must have always dreamed of letting out." Kemi let a tear drop form her face. "When I come back, I want to see that side of you, all the time. Torrin."

Kemi shifted the dirt on the ground with her foot. "I only hope being re-united, does not take too long. I do know your two families are packed full of wonderful people I've always enjoyed being around. So let's hope for soon."

Kemi's head shot up to where Torrin's blurred form stood. He just asked her to stay? Did that mean he loved her too? She still shook her head. "I'm sorry, Torrin, but you know I cannot just stay." She sighed. "I have so many things I need to fix up at home before I can come back."

"I'm not gone forever, but you know well enough that I'll be coming back for you within 6 month-" Kemi's words stopped short, when a whistling noise pierced her heart. A Sniper? HERE?!

Kemi felt herself drifting into nothingness. She felt herself falling back with the momentum of the bullet passing through her chest. *Looks like you got your wish Torrin, I'll be staying here with all of you forever.* she felt herself drift, she wanted to smile, but she felt her body lose everything, as she hit the ground.

*I wished to tell you one day, that I loved you. I no longer think I'll ever get that chance* her final thoughts left her, as her vision faded to white, and she felt nothing, forever.

Torrin looked down in horror as he set his eyes upon what he never wanted to see. His closest friend and partner lay dead. Hanase had been killed! But why?! Hanase had always been good, no one should be after her! Torrin remained in his cloaked Talon form and hid in the tree line once more. Stealth would be his ally as Kemi’s killer would be revealed. Torrin crouched low as he heard footsteps slowly approaching from where the sniper round had rung out. The person was growing closer. Torrin wanted to kill whoever did it as soon as they appeared. He heard a heavy grunt from a male, and Torrin’s eyes must’ve been deceiving him. CLIFF?! Talon 04 was the killer?! Torrin watched him hit the ant-tank mine! How did he survive?! Torrin’s hands clenched heavily with a loud crackle.

Cliff suddenly jumped, he knew there was a witness now. He realized it best to change. That’s when Torrin’s even greater horror was realized. A green haze enveloped Cliff and out stepped a heavy Talon form?! Cliff did not have a Talon form! He was a failure in Talon’s Edge though! What was going on?! “Show yourself now, and receive a quick death!” Cliff howled out. He stepped heavily around and around, pacing over Kemi’s dead body. How could he! How could he be so heartless to an old Comrade? “You have 10 seconds to show yourself, or your death shall last as if it were a lifetime of hell!” Cliff shouted.

Torrin stepped out of the bushes, and charged as he remained cloaked. “Damn you Cliff!” He yelled and as soon as Torrin was about to make contact with the heaviest punch he’d ever thrown, Torrin took off his cloak, revealing the true Talon, the shimmering black/copper tone armor, black feather and pulsing muscles, with the yellow blaring eyes. Torrin’s spiked fist contacted Cliff’s green metal Talon head, and sent him flying almost 50 or so feet. Torrin charged on and pinned Cliff to the ground, and sent another heavy fist directly into his face. “Why would you kill Kemi?!” Torrin’s voice boomed out again as he struck Cliff in the face again. “She was our friend! OUR ALLY!”

Cliff howled out in pain as he was struck in the face yet again by the man all confirmed dead. Torrin was alive?! And boy was this guy strong and scary! He’d never seen his Talon form, and it really did put cold chills down Cliff’s metal spine. Cliff grunted and howled as He used all his strength, and vaulted Torrin off his own body, and sent Torrin toppling down the steep hillside nearby. “You live even still, Torrin?!” He yelled and jumped after him. “That means you’re all that’s left to get rid of you sack of useless trash!” He yelled and stomped on Torrin’s back.

Torrin yelled out in pain he’d never felt before. He felt as though the reinforced spine of his was about to snap. Torrin quickly twisted over and grabbed Cliff’s armored shoulder, and swung him off. Torrin jumped to his feet, grabbed Cliff by the chest, and pounded another heavy fist into his face. Torrin was not done there, he took hold of cliff’s face and spun around, and swung with all his might, smashing Cliff through a large pine tree, snapping the tree in two like a tooth pick. “I will never forgive you for killing Kemi!” Torrin yelled and charged after the tumbling Cliff.

Cliff made a rapid recover, and lofted his body into the air, just as Torrin was about to strike, and grabbed the back of Torrin’s neck, and used his momentum to send his heels driving heavily into Torrin’s spine again. “Face it Torrin Valest!” He yelled as he swung Torrin through a pine tree. “The Talon’s Edge is over! Give up and die!” He yelled and sped forward and to the right in an attempt to flank Torrin. “The Talon’s Edge is over, and you’re all that’s left that stops the Talon Force from moving forward.” Cliff gave another swift kick, but Torrin managed to twist and duck out of the way. “With you gone, The Talons will move forward, and become an independent force no one can stand against!”

As Torrin ducked, he shot his shoulder forward, and impacted Cliff’s chest. “You should not allow such people to play God in these matters!” Torrin yelled and pinned Cliff’s arm, pulled him down as Torrin kneed Cliff heavily in the face with a yell of pure anger. “Put an end to it all before it’s too late you unforgivable fool!”

“WRONG!” Cliff grabbed Torrin by the ankle, and spun Torrin to the ground, kicked him back up and grabbed Torrin by the back, and threw him through another tree. “The Talon Force is where the world shall change!”

Torrin spun back to his feet just in time for his face to meet Cliff’s spiked knee. Torrin flew back as fast as he could to absorb as much as the impact as possible, but there was little time to react. Torrin’s head flew back, and he felt himself get picked up again. “Wretched fool! The Talons should never have been created, you have no idea!” Torrin twisted around and slammed Cliff into the ground.

“I know enough, Valest.” Cliff growled as he picked himself up. “The Talon’s Edge was a test phase for your father’s ambition. You were to be the one to lead us all! Then you abandoned us!” Cliff darted left, and then quickly right, and gave a swift and very strong back-knuckle to Torrin’s left temple. Cliff lifted the bottom of his foot, and drove it hard into Torrin’s chest, sending Torrin toppling over a cliff. “Now you should die! Just like your friend Kemi!” Cliff jumped down the cliff after Torrin.

Torrin hit the ground, and immediately darted left. As soon as Cliff hit the ground, Torrin had already tackled Cliff’s flank. “Kemi was a good person! You should have let her live in peace!” Torrin yelled and spun rapidly around to give Cliff a kick to his ribs.

Cliff tried to recover from the impact but smashed into an oak tree. He lifted himself up and charged Torrin. “All those who witnessed the creating of Talon’s Edge must die!”

“Who all is left?!” Torrin yelled as he side-stepped and struck Cliff in the neck.

Cliff used a shoulder roll, and spun around and glared at Torrin with his glowing green eyes and heavy breath. “Looks like its just you and me.” Cliff chuckled menacingly. “Now I am the one running Project talons. You are my only roadblock from obtaining my ambitions.” He laughed. “With you gone, no one is left to stop me!”

Torrin stopped Cliff’s laughter by using a high speed jump kick to the face. “You madman!” Torrin hopped down and grabbed Cliff by the face, and punched as hard as he could into the abdomen. “There was no reason to kill Kemi, she wanted nothing to do with it!” Torrin punched again, but let go of Cliff’s face, allowing the force of his punch to send Cliff high into the air. Torrin jumped up after him, and kneed him before he could get to close to the ground.

Cliff felt the wind leaving his lungs, so out of desperation to stop the original Talon’s onslaught, he used his elbow to the head to daze the relentless Torrin. He grabbed him, and threw Torrin as hard as he could to the ground.

Torrin felt himself become very dizzy with the impact, and saw stars in his head, but found himself rapidly descending to the ground. He had no ability to recover this one, and his head smashed into the ground with a large crash.

Cliff chuckled and landed once again on Torrin’s spine, He got up, and picked Torrin up by his large copper-tone skull, and tossed Torrin to the side, and laughed as Torrin’s body skidded to a halt in front of the lake shore. The green Talon laughed evilly. Was this all the Talon had? “What’s wrong Valest?” He called out as he walked up to the weakened Talon. “Have you become soft by being around kind people? Has time around your precious Hanase made you forget what a heartless killer you were before?” Cliff stomped on Torrin’s throat, and pressed down as if he were taunting the barely conscious Torrin. “Face it, you are nothing but a weapon, a trained and deadly killer. Killers never live in peace.” He growled as he picked Torrin up by the neck. “Had you not grown soft, Hanase would not have hugged you two and a half years back, and we would still be Talon’s Edge. Because you wanted to be soft, you caused our demise.” He pulled Torrin close to his face. “A creature like you, is nothing more than a tool, a killer tool. You do not have the right to live calmly and happily. Had you not grown soft, your precious Hanase would still be alive today.” Cliff threw Torrin into the lake and laughed. “You can meet her in hell Torrin M. Valest!” He yelled out before Torrin hit the water.

Torrin could hardly move, he hardly even wanted to. He let himself just sink. Perhaps he could meet Kemi again, and when he got to the other side, he could tell his mother he was sorry. Maybe that’s what he’d do. *This is for the best.* Torrin thought. But, he suddenly had a strange feeling. What about the Sohma family, what about the Komachi family?! What would he do for them?! They still needed him, right?! What would they do if Torrin died too?! Not to mention Kemi Hanase would never forgive Torrin for giving up on what he dreamed for. Torrin wanted peace, and letting Cliff get away with this would never allow Torrin’s soul to rest in peace! Torrin’s red eyes grew brighter as though they’d burst into flames. “Cliff.” Torrin growled in a way he’d never growled before. He felt something sprouting in his back, and he flew out of the water so fast, he could hardly tell he’d started moving. “Talon 04!” Torrin’s voice boomed out loud enough to be heard on every edge of the lake. He shot forward, from the air?! Strait into the unaware Cliff. “This will be the end of all Talons!” Torrin yelled. “It’s over! Let us live in peace!” Torrin sped on, and slammed Cliff into the rocky Cliffside hard enough to force blood out of Cliff’s mouth.

Cliff instantly was forced out of his own fake Talon form as he screamed out in unimaginable pain. He choked on his blood as he tried in vein to see the newest Talon form that Torrin sprouted. Red emblazed wings with firey feathers that burned off, in a never ending cycle. WAS THIS WHAT THE DEVIL WAS LIKE?! Torrin, was he something that should never have existed?! “My god!” Cliff cried out, but could say no more.

Torrin yelled out, with a howl that echoed far and wide, as if the Earth itself had grown angry. He picked Cliff up, and drove an arm blade through Cliff’s stomach. “These are your final moments, Talon 04! After this! Talons will never roam the planet again!” Torrin flew up and held the dying Cliff above the center of the lake. “I promised myself never to kill again, Cliff.” Torrin growled. “But for the safety of my family, and to honor Hanase, you must be the final one.”

“No, please, don’t, don’t- NOOOO!-” Cliff cried out, but Torrin drove his other arm blade through Cliff’s chest, and left him drop into the lake.

“You rest with the legacy of Talons, As I remain done with all of it! I am no one, that is all I want!”

Torrin flew back to the spot, Kemi Hanase had been shot, and reverted back to his human form. Torrin picked up Kemi’s frail body, and held her tightly. “I’m so sorry, Hanase, I promised never to kill again, but I had to. I’m such a fool.” Torrin let a tear fall out of his eyes as he began to weep into Kemi’s now lifeless body.

The Talons were entirely over, and all that was left to tell the story, were memories. Torrin was all that was left, but he promised to forever forget he was ever called a Talon. Such a thing like a Talon, only stood for hatred, death, and evil that the world brought. Torrin buried Hanase, and promised to her grave, that Torrin would never allow himself to be called a Talon, so he may live in peace, for her honor, and for Torrin’s two families. Torrin was now something else, but a Talon, he was not. He was a Sohma, and he was also a Komachi. The curse behind the curse, and the one to carry all of the harshest of memories. Though for the honor of those he loved and lost, he decided to carry the memories, and tell the story to those who earned the right to know, that they died for the selfish and evil cause, of some one who did not even care for family. Torrin then decided to give up the name Valest. He gave no last name. From now on, he was just Torrin, nothing more, until the day another would bring him a new name to have.

Hikko decided that she'd take a walk through the near by forest in an attempt to get away from everything, but she didn't count on practically walking in on nii-san and the one he called Cliff's big fight and she also almost couldn't help it when she noticed Hanese-san's still body lying on the floor near the battle. Choking back tears, Hikko came to understand what had occured. This Cliff guy had shot Hanese-san, who had most likely been talking with nii-san and in retaliation had attacked Cliff-san.

“I promised myself never to kill again, Cliff. But for the safety of my family, and to honor Hanase, you must be the final one.”

Hikko sank to the ground, she didn't think she was ready to witness something like that. She closed her eyes and hoped it would be over soon but somehow onl being able to listen made it so much worse.

Cliff-san's cry for mercy, “No, please, don’t, don’t- NOOOO!-” and the sound of a thud ended it all and even though she had never witnessed a death before, she knew that that man was dead. “You rest with the legacy of Talons, As I remain done with all of it! I am no one, that is all I want!” Hikko stood up silently and slowly opened her eyes to see nii-san burying Hanese-san and heard his apology. She would have gone out to join him if she didn't think walking would result in a trip to the ground.

Finally, she found herself able to walk more than one pace without falling over and walked slowly over to Torrin-nii-san and wrapped her arms around his waist as best she could whispering, "I'm sorry you had to do that nii-san."

Hikko couldn't find the right words to say and so chose to remain silent after that. Deciding that it would probably be better for him to make the next move.

OOC: I hope this is okay... it's just something I threw together just now so I apologise in adavance if it isn't good.

"Hanase died because of what I am." Torrin said. "And because others wanted to exploit the remnants of what I left behind." He stood up and brushed his hands off. "Had I not been born the way I am, nay, at all. Kemi would still be alive today, and others would not attempt to cause harm through what I am, and what they stole from me."

Torrin took a final look at the grave he made for Hanase, and walked off. "Hopefully Hanase may rest in peace, knowing that it's all over." He said as he walked. "From here on, I have no last name. I am just Torrin, if that's what people wish to call me." Torrin stopped in his tracks, and took off his coat, and placed it on Kemi's grave, all of Torrin's old belongings inside, his insignia, his gold oak leafs, all of it he left. "Now I am no one." He said, and walked off again.

Torrin looked at Hikko, but gave no signs of happiness in his face. "Today is yet another somber day in our lives." Torrin said. "Though even I know we must move on." Torrin placed a hand on Hikko's shoulder. "Because of what happened this day, I give up everything. My name, my history, everything." Torrin said. "The Talons, are no more. Let's get you home." Torrin sighed. He only wished Hikko did not have to see what was done this horrible day. She'd witnessed two deaths, and the fury Torrin could bring out in a Hellish fire. "All we leave behind from this, are memories, Hikko, nothing more than memories."
